New Subaru WRX STI will get more than 300 hp

The new generation Subaru WRX and WRX STI (these models will no longer have the Impreza prefix in the name) will be equipped with four-cylinder boxer engine with a turbocharger.According to American magazine Car and Driver, the amount of this power unit was 2.0 liters, and its capacity will exceed 300 hp for version WRX STI (note that now has a Subaru WRX powertrain 2.5-liter that produces 265 hp, and under the hood lurks WRX STI 300 "horses").

Furthermore, the new WRX and WRX STI will weigh less than their predecessors, and, most of all, the design of these machines will be quite different from the normal Impreza - so the Japanese want to make WRX and WRX STI models separate and not "charged" version of the standard Impreza, as they are now perceived by some customers.
